Smt. Manekba D.El.Ed. College (PTC)
Earlier known as Smt. Manekaba PTC College, the D.El.Ed. college for women, established in 1960, has a spacious building situated at the center of the campus, equipped with all the modern facilities. Since its inception in the year 1960, Smt. Manekaba D.El.Ed. College for women has been training young women to become resourceful teachers. It is noteworthy that in the state level recruitments of Vidyasahayak across all the districts, the first 50 selected candidates are almost always from this institution only.
The admission process for this programme is conducted at state level by the Director, Primary Education, Gandhinagar, and the minimum qualification is 12th standard (H.Sc.). It has been observed that because of the excellent facilities at the college, the total allowed seats get filled up in the first one or two days. Women trainees from different districts of Gujarat prefer to get admitted to this college so that they can get properly trained as effective teachers.
Every year, our trainees secure top positions in the state’s ranks and add new laurels to the glory of the institution. The college does not only train the students in their academic subjects, but also imparts value based life skills to become good human beings. As a result, they aspire to become good teachers and good home makers and finally enrich their own life and the life of the community too.
To ensure that the trainees are equipped with Computer skills, the institution has availed of a state-of-the-art computer lab. In terms of facilities for the trainees, the institution provides a well-furnished hostel including a dining hall. The trainees get hygienic and delicious food at the institution. The institution has highly qualified, trained and experienced staff and provides an inclusive and warm atmosphere on the campus.
